“Best in Profession” professional excellence contest among the blue collars of Transneft subsidiaries have been held annually since 2001 in honour of the professional holiday, Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day, being a significant element of the corporate culture.
Representatives of 13 blue-collar jobs which are in highest demand in the industry, taking part in the contest:
Petroleum products pumping station operator
Commodity loading operator
Petroleum products loading operator
Instrumentation and automation fitters (electricians)
Processing units repairman
Chemical analysis laboratory assistant
Chemical analysis laboratory assistant for petroleum products
Electric and gas welder
Line pipeliner
Electrical equipment repair and maintenance fitter
Truck driver
Excavator operator
Security guard
The contest is held in three stages using real production resources of Transneft subsidiaries, and marks a dramatic event for its participants.
The professional skills of contestants are rated in accordance with the approved regulations for each job. The best of the best are admitted to the third (final) stage, that is the winners in their companies, who achieve the best results in performing theoretical and practical assignments within the contest.
The contest is crowned with an inauguration formality, when the names of the winners are announced and the Golden Barrel token is handed over to a winning Transneft subsidiary that organises the event next year.
Transneft employees also take part in various international and national industrial contests, showing a high level of their professional skills and a responsible attitude to work.
